Min, B.R. (Sangmyong Women's Univ., Seoul (Korea R.). Dept. of Biology)
These studies were to investigate the genus of Rhizopus. The haploid chromosome number of 17 species were confirmed as 6 (R. oligosporus), 8 (R. homothallicus, R. liquefaciens, R. shanghaiensis, R. chlamydoporus and R. arrhizus), 10 (R. boreas, R. javanicus var. kawaskiensis, R. niveus and R. acetorinus), 12 (R. microsporus, R. pesudochinensis, R. rhizopodiformis, R. termosus and R. kazanensis), 14 (R. stolonifer) and 16 (R. suinus), respectively. Referring to the above fact and the previous paper, it is strongly presumed that the basic chromosome number of Rhizopus is 4
