An integrated pest management program for the control of Asian corn borer consisting of remedial treatment with insecticide and detasseling four rows out of every six rows of corn plants before pollen shed was evaluated during the wet season. Remedial or spot application with insecticide during the whorl stage and scheduled blanket application of insecticide controlled Asian corn borer infestations in some regions. Detasseling 67% of the plants before pollen shed effectively reduced post whorl infestations of Asian corn borer
