Incidence of rice virus diseases in the Philippines
1985
Bajet, N.B. | Aguiero, V.M. | Daquioag, R.D.
Results of latex agglutination test (LAT) and/or enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA) of homogenized leaf samples confirm the presence of rice tungro bacilliform (RTBV) and rice tungro spherical virus (RTSV) in almost all the samples tested especially on the symptomatic leaves. About 20-40% of the non-symptomatic leaves tested in ELISA reacted to RTSV alone suggesting independent spread of RTSV alone and simultaneously with the tungro complex in the field. Tungro may remain to be one of the most important constraints to a stable rice yield
