An early maturing and high yielding rice variety "Kwanagbyeo"

Kwangbyeo was developed from a cross between Konggo and Suwon 82 at the Crop Experiment Station, Office of Rural Development in 1980. It has high yield potential, good grain quality and tolerance to cold as an early maturing rice variety. Resistance to blast disease was comparable to Nongbaeg but susceptible to bacterial leaf blight, virus diseases and insects. Kwangbyeo can be released in northern plain and southern mountainous area below 300 meters above sea-level
