The economic effect of silage corn production in the 10-year period (1971-1981) was investigated. The agricultural combines in Slavonia and Baranja, having an intensive approach to this production were chosen for the investigation. The analysis results are as follows: -In terms of the value of production per 100 dinars of personal incomes, the value in the investigated period varied from the lowest,276.3 in 1973, to the highest, 869.60 in 1979. The graphic representation of the trends of production value per 100 dinars of personal income had a curving trend with a falling-rising tendency. The production value per 1 ha had the average annual increase rate of 29.36%, being I1.02% higher than the same indicator of the increase of personal incomes. The variation coefficient was 38.8%. Uneven trends of the production value per 100 dinars of personal incomes showed a cyclic movement. The personal income per 1 ha increased from 698.66 dinars at the beginning of the period to 4,909.7 dinars at the end. The variation coefficient was 50/84%. The low accumulation made impossible the achievement of positive financial results in most years. The economy coefficient was the lowest in 1973, 0.48, and the highest in 1971, 1.16. The yield achieved in 1971 was 23,602 kg/ha, being 3.793 kg/ha higher than the required economy limit. In the following years a lower yield of the silage corn was achieved, from 912 kg/ha to 23,740 kg/ha. It is concluded that much effort is needed for this important fodder crop to reach notable natural and value effects.
