A study on the growth rate of Macrobrachium rosenbergii (de Man 1879) has been made under four different dietary conditions. Five hundred juveniles of the species were collected from the Dakatia river near Chandpur and were transported to the Bangladesh Agricultural University Campus in four polythene bags with oxygen. The mortality rate during transportation was 53.5%. A total of 160 juveniles were stocked in equal numbers in eight compartments of a pond which were almost identical in all respects except as regards supplemental feeds and were reared under four different dietary conditions for a period of 90 days. Rate of survival under supplemental feeding was rather high than that without supplemental feeding. Influence of different diets used in the present investigation on the survival and growth was evaluated.
