Chowdhury, A.R. (Bangladesh Agricultural Research Inst., Joydebpur (Bangladesh)) | Quasem, A.
The growth analysis experiment to study the feasibility of growing disease free seed potatoes and the physiological basis of yield differences among three cultivars: Ukama, Kufri Sinduri and Cardinal, showed that about 94% of the variation in yield was accounted for by the variation in leaf area index. The highest leaf area index (2.4) was attained by Kufri Sinduri. The yields produced by Ukama, Kufri Sinduri and Cardinal were 16.72, 27.27 and 27.86 t/ha respectively. The maximum absolute tuber growth rate of 610.1 g/m2/week was observed in Kurfi Sinduri. Over 50% of the total yield was obtained with a good quantity of seed tubers (28-45 mm) by harvesting the crops 52-62 days after planting
