Effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and crude organic matter on the yield and composition of potato and chilli
1984
Maurya, K.R. | Dhar, N.R.
In the present investigation, the effect of nitrogenous fertilizers like urea and ammonium sulphate, phosphatic fertilizer like rockphosphate with and without crude organic matter like water hyacinth (Eichronia crassipes) on the yield and chemical composition of potatoes and chillies, was studied. It was observed that water hyacinth 25 tonnes along with 100 kg of nitrogen as urea and 100 kg P subindex 2 O subindex 5 in form of rockphosphate produced the highest yield of potatoes (first crop) and chillies (residual crop) as compared to other treatments. The protein, minerals and vitamins A,B subindex 1 and C content was distinctly higher under the combined application of water hyacinth + rockphosphate + urea than that other combinations and separate applications
