The experiment was conducted to investigate the change of xanthophyll content with different drying methods and the ethoxyquin treatment in the laboratory, for the purpose of determining whether the pigment in Satsuma Mandarin peel would be worth being considered as a supplement of livestock feeds in the future. The flavedo, the outer layers of Satsuma Mandarin peel, was prepared in the laboratory, and 0.0125% of ethoxyquin was used in this study
