Studies on the cutting management of pasture during the mid-summer season, 3; effect of cutting height and N application on the dead plants, weed appearance, clover percentage and yield of orchardgrass/clover mixtures
1986
Seo, S. (Rural Development Administration, Suwon (Korea R.). Livestock Experiment Station)
This field experiment was conducted to determine the effects of cutting height and nitrogen (N) application after cut during the mid-summer season on the dead plants, weed appearance, clover percentage, regrowth and yield of orchardgrass/ladino clover mixtures. Three cutting heights (3, 6 and 9 cm) at the third cut and two N levels (0,50 kg/ha) were assigned, and the experiment was performed at Livestock Experiment Station in Suwon, 1985. Temperature of soil surface and soil moisture content after the third cut decreased as cutting height was higher, and regrowth leaf area of orchardgrass increased as stubble height was high, regardless of N application
