Effects of promising NPK formulations on the growth, yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco
1983
Obiacoro, E.G. | Abella, L.A.
Soil analysis showed that the organic matter content of the soil was 0.89% with pH of 6.8 which is relatively higher than the desired pH for tobacco. No significant effect was observed on the initial height, leaf length, width, breadth index, number of harvested leaves and grade index. The final height, leaf area and cured leaf yield were affected by different NPK formulations. Plants fertilized with 120-90-90 produced more harvested leaves but lower leaf yield than the other treatments. This could be attributed to the smaller leaves produced. Plants fertilized with 150-90-90 gave the highest yield but the highest crop value was obtained from plants fertilized with 120-90-90
