Varietal influence on shelf-life of cabbage using various types of storage

Findings showed, cabbage heads stored in refrigerators had the longest shelf-life before rotting. Likewise, the variety and types of storage had no marked effect on color, texture, flavor, moisture content, loss of weight before and after storage. Uncut cabbage stored at hanging at room temperature showed a tremendous increase in sugar content after storage. A daily room temperature ranging from 22.4 to 23.6 C caused cabbage head to rot earlier, but more loss of weight than refrigerated head at 4.2 C
