Intercropping selected vegetable crops with mulberry trees
1985
Belango, G.G.
Weight of harvestable leaves of mulberry and length of branches were not significantly affected by the kind of vegetable intercrop, but were significantly higher with intercropping vegetables either in between hills, two, or three rows in between rows of mulberry trees compared to monocropping of mulberry. Number of mulberry branches produced was significantly highest with garden peas as intercrop and with two or three rows of vegetable crops. The yield obtained from Chinese cabbage was significantly higher than the rest of the vegetable intercrops. Yield of the vegetable intercrops was significantly highest when planted in three rows between rows of mulberry trees
