Evaluation of cultivar and harvest interval for high nicotine content and economic leaf yield
1985
Domingo, M.M. | Pingao, F.G. | Orcino, R.C.
Highest yield was obtained from 72S but the greatest percentage of high quality leaves (A,B,C) were produced from NCBY (81.97%), Coker 254 (81.76%) and MRS-3 (82.99%). Variety 347 C among the new entries yielded the highest percentage of A, B, C (79.35%) and the lowest percentage of reject (4.58%). The third harvest interval yielded the highest quality leaves (68.57%). In general, the third harvest interval with four primings gave the best results while the new varietal entries such as 95N, 139L, 411C, 347C, SC-9a, and SC-9b appeared most promising
