The largest amounts of methane produced in ruminal fluid without inhibitors were found in bulls and the smallest in goats. Chloroform and carbon tetrachloride entirely inhibited the methane production in bulls and by 80-94% in sheep and goats. The highest concentration of hydrogen was observed in bulls
