The effect of the same levels of nitrogen fertilization of meadows applied in a mineral form or in a 1:1 combination of the mineral fertilizer and liquid manure on the yield and the nutritive value of hay and grass silage was compared. At the combined mineral-organic fertilization the yield of green matter of grass was insignificantly lower. However the nutritive value of hay and silages was slightly better and these feeds caused a smaller decrease of milk yield. The content of nitrates and urea in the milk was reduced, acidity was lower and renneting time shorter than in the milk of the cows fed hay and silage obtained at all-mineral fertilization
