Ammoniated whey as a replacer of high-protein feeds in dairy cow ration

Experiment was conducted on 30 cows of Lowland Red and White breed fed rations containing 15 or 25 l of ammoniated whey. No negative effect was found in the health of cows, even those given daily 25 l whey, what made more than 30% of dietary crude protein. Milk yield and composition did not show any significant changes. The results confirmed fully a suitability of ammoniated whey as an equivalent of nitrogen and energy of soya bean oilmeal in feeding in dairy cows
