Parvoviral infections in boars

Six boars were infected intranasally, intrapreputially or intratesticularly with porcine parvovirus (PPV). Viral antigen was detected only in the testes of boars inoculated intratesticularly. No PPV was demonstrated in semen of the animals. Also attempts to recover the virus from semen collected from 180 boars in breeding herds or insemination units failed
