Nutrient value of three main meals of university students [in Poland]. Part 1. Values of energy, protein, fat and saccharides

The study was based on the three-meal nutritional model of average students and it seems that the analysed population of students had their nutritional standards deviating from the recommended ones. Three meals provided on average 1775 kcal with 10.8% of energy derived from protein, 36.7% from fats and 62.5% from saccharides. It was demonstrated also that the distribution of the food ration into the different meals was principally correct but the proportions of the main energy components in these meals might arouse objections in view of a too low consumption of protein and relatively high consumption of fats
