Four lists of blackberries are proposed for growing in Yugoslavia: 1. Leading cultivars 2. Supplementary cultivars 3. Cultivars of local importance 4. Promising cultivars. The leading cultivars are as follows: Thorn free and Thornless Logan. The supplementary cultivars are Smoothstem and Giganta dell Giardino. The local cultivars are : Darow, Bailey, Ebory King, Eldorado, Byson and Himalaya. The promising cultivars are : Aurora, Black Satin, Dirksen Thornless, Ostin Thornless and Thornless Young. The leading cultivars are of common Yugoslav importance and they are recommended as the main cultivars for production. The supplementary cultivars are only the supplement for leading cultivars. The local cultivars are not recommended for growing in all parts of Yugoslavia, but only at some localities. To this group of cultivars belong mainly blackberry cultivars with thorns and bigger and more attractive fruits.
