Information and seed samples of Chandina, Hashikalmi and Kataktara varieties of aus rice were collected from 25 farmers in five villages of the Cropping Systems Research Area of Bangladesh Agricultural University under Trishal Upazila of Mymensingh district and tested for moisture content and physical and biological composition. Farmers' technology in respect of seed crop management i.e., fertilization, weeding and roguing was not sufficient but their technology in respect of harvesting, cleaning, drying and storing of aus rice seed was excellent. Hence extension effort should be directed towards the improvement of seed crop management as farmers own seed meets about 95% aus seed requirement of the country.
