Study of variability correlation and path analysis in cotton
1986
Malek, M.A.
In 17 genetically diverse lines of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) the highest coefficient of variation was for number bolls/plant and the lowest for number of days to first flowering. Yield of seed-cotton/plant had highest significant positive correlation with number of bolls/plant. Path coefficient analysis revealed that number of bolls/plant had the maximum positive direct effect on yield of seed-cotton/plant. Number of days to first flowering showed minimum negative contribution towards yield of seed-cotton/plant. First flowering node number also showed negative direct effect on yield of seed-cotton/plant.
