Study of stacked wood volume for better estimation
1985
Chowdhury, J.A. | Ahmed, G.U.
Wood intended for fuel or pulp is stacked for measurement. Stacked volume is always greater than the actual wooded-volume. Therefore, a study was undertaken to find out the percentage of actual volume of the wood present in a stack by photographic method. For this purpose ten different pairs of photographs of stacked-wood were taken from the different forest areas of Cox's Bazar Forest Division, Bangladesh and these photographs were enlarged to a suitable size for convenience of measurement. The study revealed that the average percentage of actual wood in the stack was 68.98 percent of the stacked volume.
