From the findings of the survey, it was concluded that intensive training programme on the use of rice varieties as per type of land, use of recommended seed rate per hectare, management of inputs, nursery care, process of transplanting, application of split dose of fertilisers at important stages, soil testing for applying required NPK and plant protection measures may be taken up to increase production and productivity of rice in north Balasore of Orissa
