Correlation studies in some quantitative characters of bunch varieties of Arachis hypogaea L.

A study was undertaken with 26 bunch groundnut varieties from various geographical origins at Aliyarnagar tract. Quantitative characters such as plant height, number of primary leaves, number of nodes on main branch, leaf area, dry matter and number of mature pods were taken to understand the relationship between the quantitative characters. All the quantitative characters showed positive correlation with number of pods. There was also linear relationship between the vegetative characters and number of pods
