Parasites and predators of the yellow headed borer, Dirphya Nigricornis OL in Kenya

A study was undertaken to determine the parasitic and predatory agents that affect the population density of Dirphya Nigricornis; a pest, in coffee plantations. This yielded 15 agents of which only one had previously been identified and the rest were new records for Kenya. Results demonstrated that D. nigricornis mortality results out of many agents which belong to a variety of species. The significance of the preditors for the control of the pest are discussed and enhancement of a few agents suggested
