Effects of droughts and consequences of sprinkling irrigation in the western part of Polish Lowland

Precipitation during the vegetation time and mineral fertilization were responsible for changes of crops in 80.9%. Effects of precipitation and fertilization were approximately equal depending on the kind of soil and the range of these fluctuations. The decrease of crops because of dry and very dry seasons amounted on the average from 8 to 9.3 corn units per conversion hectare in comparison with normal years and from 8.4 to 10.1 corn units in comparison with moist and very moist years
