Effect of the usable type and the feeding system on the yield and composition of milk

The experiment was carried out in the 130-day lactation period on 40 cows of the milk and dual-purpose type. The cows were fed mainly on silage made from semi-sugar beets, straw, rapeseed meal, urea and mineral salts or silage made from maize. The results showed a higher milk performance of the milk-type cows, irrespective of feeding system. The statistically significant effect of fat and protein content of milk of the usable type and the feeding system was found
