The respective tests were carried out on 56 cows and their calves. Blood from cows was taken 7 days before calving and on the 2-3 day and then after the 1st, 2nd and 3rd week of life. Colostrum samples were taken on 2-3 days after calving. High and significant correlation coefficients between the content of gamma-globulins in blood serum of cows and calves, the vitamin level A in cows and the content of gamma-globulins in calves and between the beta-carotene content in colostrum and the gamma-globulin content in the blood serum of calves were obtained. The vitamin A level in the blood of cows before calving exerted a significant effect on the immunity of their progeny
