Effectiveness of irrigation with retting effluents in plant production and water-sewage management
1986
Kurhanski, M. (Instytut Krajowych Wlokien Naturalnych, Poznan (Poland))
Experiments performed at the Institute of Inland Natural Fibres in 1957-79 pointed out to a possibility for a wide economic use of all the wastes of flax industry in agricultural production, vegetable and fruit growing and in forestry. Under the effect of irrigation with effluents the largest biomass increase will be yielded by perennial plants (about 300%) and then by root crops, vegetables and corn (about 80%), followed by leguminous crops (about 70%) and fibre plants (about 60%) as compared with non-irrigated ones. The lower effectiveness was obtained by cereals (about 25%)
