This study used descriptive statistical analysis to explain the marketing channel, structure and conduct. An analysis of spatial price differential places and trader's net marketing margin were employed to explain the market performance. The study was divided into two parts by area. The first was the inner gulf of Thailand which includes Trat, Chanthaburi, Chon Buri, Samut Prakran, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Bangkok. The second was the southern region which includes Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Phangnga and Satun. The results from this study revealed that cockle dealers include collector, wholesaler 1 wholesaler 2 and retailers. The most important market channel were (1) producers to collectors to wholesalers 1 to wholesalers 2 to retailers and (2) producers to wholesalers 1 to wholesalers 2 to retailers. The cockle market was oligopolistic because concentration ratio of the four largest firms were 89.50, 95.69, and 81.45 percent at the level of collectors, wholesalers 1 and wholesalers 2 respectively. About 61.65 percent of the traders had to have regular customers which was also a barrier to entry for new traders beside capital barrier. Hence, the buying and selling prices of cockle were determined by collectors and wholesalers
