Oil crops were considered as economically important plants in Thailand due to its role in domestic consumption and exports. Also, some of them could be used to subsidized gasoline for diesel engines. Although it was possible to grow some oil crops in forest plantations, further questions such as their ecological requirements needed to be answered. This articles suggested some oil crops expected to be planted under the canopy of tree species in order to gain more income for the rural community as well as to lessen shifting cultivation problems. species to be considered Sesamum indicum, Glycine max, Arachis hypogaea, Zea mays, Carthamus tinctorius, Ceiba pentandra, Cocos nucifera, Helianthus annuus, Ricinus communis and Jatropha curcus.
