Investigations of the influence of Simmental and Black Pied Friesian cattle on fattening performance of young cattle, which was performed with the application of intensive feeding, proved that breed does not have a considerable influence on the average daily weight gain over the whole fattening period because the achieved daily weight gain of both investigated breeds over the entire fattening period was not significantly different. Simmental bull calves had a more uniform daily weight gain. With increasing fattening weight and age daily weight gains decreased at a higher rate in Black Pied Friesian breed.
