Cork-like spots on apple fruit appear on lime-type soil with higher salt concentration, often in places where apple ferrochlorosis takes places. Soil in these locations also has higher magnesium level compared to calcium in absorption complex and in soil water extract. Thanks to foliar analysis disturbance in plant nutrition is detected. It is manifested through excessive accumulation of magnesium leading us to a conclusion that excess magnesium in soil and in the plant plays an important role in the appearance of cork-like spots. On location with exceptionally heavy forms of cork-like spots in addition to magnesium there is a great accumulation of potassium in soil. This research failed to clarify the role of boron and sodium.
