Antwi, M.K. (Animal Research Inst., Achimota (Ghana))
Seasonal variation in chemical composition and in vitro dry matter digestibility of tropical pastures consisting of Digitaria decumbens and Cynodon dactylon in admixtures with Desmodium intorlum were determined. The effects of season on chemical composition in vitro dry matter digestibility percent crude protein content between mixed or pure treatments were insignificant. The mixed treatments had higher mean crude protein values than the corresponding pure treatments (P0.01). Higher values for soluble carbohydrates were recorded for Pangola grass than for Star grass
