Broiler production is rapidly expanding in Kelantan. The established practise of individual vaccination is very time consuming and labour intensive, and puts a strain on the available manpower. An additional number of vaccinations during the rearing period, concurrent with an increasing number of birds, is not feasible. Therefore a combined spray and drinking water application and spray vaccination alone have been evaluated in comparison with the standard practise. Both trial methods appear to produce an improvement in immune response, even though they do not give completely satisfactory results yet
