The number of replicates required for vegetable yield trials protected

The data from two pepper yield trials, each having six replications, were analyzed in all possible combinations of the different replicates taken two, three, four, five and six at a time. On the basis of the 114 analyses performed, and using as a criterion the ratio LSD/Gerenal Mean, it is concluded that the optimum number of replications that gives a satisfactory degree of sensitivity for the comparisons of the means is four
