Effect of plant density on yield of two varieties of sweet corn

A study was conducted to examine the effect of row and inter-row spacings on yield of 2 varieties of sweet corn, Midway and Golden Fancy. The experiment was conducted on onverwagt clay and each variety was planted using 2 inter-row spacings, 24 in and 30 in and 2 row spacings, 12 in and 6 in. There was a great difference in yield between the 2 treatments seemingly due to the higher plant density in the spacing 30 in x 6 in. Midway had the higher yield of 16,373 lbs/acre while Golden Fancy yielded 15,493 lbs/acre
