World oilseed production and characteristics of the production in Hungary [Helianthus annuus, Glycine max, Brassica spp. oleifera]

The authors give an overall picture of the world oilseed production between 1967 and the turn of the millenium. In the oilseed production the quantity of palm kernel and rape seed is strongly growing. Up to the turn of the millenium the rape seed quantity will reach that of the sunflower seed, namely close to 22 millions tons and discribes briefly the development of the domestic oilseed production till now and prospectively in the future. Considering the future the increase of the average yield could insure the greater seed quantity needed for processing.
