Seasonal incidence of the bean beetle Callosobruchus phaseoli (Gyllehal) was studied in field beans during 1982-83 at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The incidence of the pest was observed throughout the fruiting season of field beans, from October to March. The pod and seed damage was maximum during first fortnight of November, being 39.02 and 14.22%, respectively, thereafter both pod and seed damage gradually declined up to the end of February. The damage again increased during March. Temperature and particularly the average minimum daily temperature, played more decisive role in influencing pest activity
