Investigations carried out showed that Ostrinia nubilalis Hb. develops one generation per year and brings forth the attack of the maize hybrids in a proportion of 16-100%. Some hybrids show an increased resistance and tolerance degree : Turda-215, Turda-199, Fundulea-96, Irla, HT-1207-82, HT-1009-82, HT-1206-82, HS-706-85, By applying a treatment, the pest attack is reduced in a proportion of 70-82% and yield gains (400-1000 kg/ha grains) are obtained as compared to the untreated control. Most efficient proved the products : Sinoratox-5 G (40 kg/ha), Dimetoat+Lindan-10 G (20 kg/ha), Volaton-5 G (40 kg/Ha), Deltanet-5 G (40 kg/ha), Deltanet-5 G (40 kg/ha) and Thuringin (2 kg/ha).
