Comparative investigations of some apricot cultivars grown under differing ecological conditions
1985
Plazinic, R. (Institut za vocarstvo, Cacak (Yugoslavia))
The investigation was carried out into 5 sorts of apricots grafted on the cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera) with the plum tree (Prunus domestica) as a mediator. Morphological characteristics differed among the sorts as well as among the localities. At greater heights above the sea-level the crown was higher whereas at smaller heights it was broader. All the sorts blossomed 2-3 days earlier in the localities at smaller heights and with a higher annual mean temperature. Pomological characteristics (fruit mass, stone size, relation between the mesocarp and stone, yield) differed among the sorts but not among the localities. Chemical components (soluble substances, glucose, fructose, saccharose, total acids, PH) varied among the sorts and years and almost all of them (except for saccharose) had greater values in Dederci than in Varvarin (Yugoslavia).
