Effect of foliar nutrition with nitrogen in heading time on some characteristics of yield indicators in grain quality of wheat

Djokic, D. (Institut za strna zita Kragujevac, Kragujevac (Yugoslavia))
The influence of leaf-feeding with nitrogen applied in the earing phenophase has been investigated in field microexperiments on 4 winter wheat and one triticale varieties. The average increase yield was 2.6 dt/ha. The sequence of varieties according to the yield height and its increase under the influence of leaf-feeding varied over the years. The grain yield increased more through the increase of the number of seeds per ear and less through the increase of its weight. The grain yield increase has been achieved through the increase of the harvest index and the total above-ground biomass. The leaf-feeding with nitrogen has brought about the increase of the nitrogen content in the plant, protein content in the grain and sedimentation value and therefore the increase of the grain quality by one class.
