Effect of different tillage systems on wheat under dryland condition [Bangladesh]
1989
Sahidullah, M. | Mazumder, M.K.
Field experiments were conducted in the farmers field during rabi, 1987-88 at the Sujanagar multilocation trial site, Pabna with four different tillage systems namely zero tillage (relay sowing), minimum tillage, reduced tillage and conventional tillage to find out the suitable tillage practice(s) for rainfed wheat. The minimum tillage practice gave significantly the highest grain (1.84 t/ha) and straw (2.01 t/ha) yield, while the conventional tillage gave the lowest (1.40 5/ha) grain yield. Development of appropriate implements for seeding in minimum tillage and comparative study on minimum and reduced tillage under rainfed and irrigated conditions were felt necessary.
