Response of variable doses of nitrogen, phosphorus, potash and zinc on the growth, yield and quality of groundnut [Bangladesh]

A field experiment was conducted at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Sub-station, Kishoregonj (old Brahmaputra alluvial tract) to evaluate the joint effects of different combinations of nitrogen, phosphorus, potash and zinc on groundnut (var. Dhaka-1). The highest pod yield (2414 kg/ha) was produced by the treatment T7 (N60 P80 K100 and Zn20). The higher pod yield with high number of pod/plant was also responded by applying the treatment T4 and T10 (Ns60 P60 K80 Zn10 and N60 P60, K60 Z10). Shelling percent of the nut and 100 kernel weight were higher in treatment T12 (N100, P40, K60 and Zn15). The maximum content of oil (55.55%) was noted under the minimum doses of NPK and Zn (N60 P40 K60 and Zn10/ha) and the minimum oil (47.96%) reported in the control treatment. In respect of protein, the highest percent (21.22%) was reported in treatment T9 (100, P60, K80 and Zn15/ha); while it was lowest in the control treatment.
