Soybean germplasm resources in Jilin Province V [China]. Fat content and fatty acid composition

Content of fat and 5 main fatty acids in the seed of 814 soybean germplasms collected from Jilin Province was determined. Average content of fat is 19.38%. Content of linoleic acid is the highest (54.87%). Contents of oleic acid and linolenic acid were 21.36% and 8.96%, respectively in fatty acid composition. 10 varieties with fat content of over 22% , 9 varieties with linoleic acid content of more than 60% and 10 varieties with linolenic acid content of about 6% have been identified and selected, their names and origin are presented in this paper for breeding
