This paper deals with the serological method to study the predation of natural enemies to the pest insects in the rice field of the first half year. In the seedling field, the predated percentage by wolf spiders on Empoasca subrufa and Chironomus sp. was very high, but in the paddy field, the predated percentage was lower on the Empoasca subrufa and Sogatella furcifera. The control functions of wolf spiders and Paederus fuscipes to three rice pest insects in rice field of the first half year were analysed. According to the result, it was considered that the Chironomus sp. was the chief food resource of natural enemies, especially in the spring
