Source-sink experiment on a variety of soyabeans (Glycine max (L) Merrill)
1981
Baffour, N.E.F.
A source-sink relationship experiment using a split-plot design, was used to study the effects of two levels each, of defoliation and depodding on the seed yield of a soya bean variety F26 3977. 33% defoliation marginally increased seed yield over intact plants, producing slightly higher number of pods and a significantly greater mean weight of seed. Depodded plants gave lower pod numbers but compensated this with filling their pods with seeds to a greater extent
