1990
Kamali, K.
In September 1986, a faunistic survey was initiated to collect mites (Acari) associated with plants in Khuzestan. A total of 37 genera from 21 families were collected during 2 years of surveying. Only 8 genera from 6 families have been recorded earlier from this area. The following 10 mite species were new record from Iran. Eutetranychus palmatus Attiah, Eutetranychus fici Meyer, Oligonychus zeae (McG.), petrobia (Mesotetranychus) Tunisiae Manson Tuckerella near Knorri Baker and Tuttle, Aegyptobia beglarovi Liv. and Miter. Aegyptobia tragardhi Sayed, Bdella near longicornis (L.), Agistemus bakari Gonzalez. According to Smith Meyer and Baker (Personal communications), there were 5 mite species from genera Eotetranychus, Pseudobryobia, Raphignathus, Pseudoleptus and Tenuipalpus which are probably new to science. Moreover, several undetermined species from genera Abrolophus, Hauptmannia, Cheletomimus, Neophyllobius, Molothrognathus, and Pachygnathus were collected. Among collected specimens there were also 20 more mite species which were recorded earlier from Iran. In the text, the mites are listed according to their order and family names under the headings of scientific names, hosts and locations
