Brown, R.A. | White, J.S. | Everett, C.J.
This paper reports investigations carried out in the laboratory and field on the effects of lambdacyhalothrin on beneficial insects. Where differences in abundance after spraying have been noted in the field, they have been further investigated using novel manipulative techniques for an analysis of birth, death, immigration rates and the overall consequences for the "predatory capacity" of the beneficial community. Ultimately, a fuller understanding of the effects of lambdacyhalothrin on the ecology of a number of natural enemies in different environments will allow the authors to evaluate its role in IPM [integrated pest management] systems.
